T. Carmi (1925 – 1994)
On That Night

She told him he was her sun,
that her light and her warmth and her good
all come from him.

He told her she was his sun,
that his light and his warmth and his good
all come from her.

On that night rose a moon
that did not find its twin face
among the waves of the sea.
