You should hear <i>Funkadelic</i> and <i>Free Your Mind...And Your Ass Will Follow</i>. Lots of weird spoken-word stuff and fuzzy guitars. Lots of acid. Eventually, as the '70s wear on, the line between Funkadelic and Parliament gets blurrier and Funkadelic's albums get less...well, I wouldn't say less <i>weird</i>, but maybe less <i>inaccessible</i>. Not to say Maggot Brain is inaccessible. Maggot Brain is awesome. Eddie Hazel, man. Eddie Hazel. Oh yeah, their first few albums are downright bizarre.
